The purpose of the Parks and Recreation Department is to guide recreation planning and development efforts of the City of St. Clair Shores. We intend to meet state standards for community recreation planning, which is necessary to fulfill the needs of our residents! The City of St. Clair Shores has a combined Department of Parks and Recreation to better coordinate the City’s park facilities and recreation programs. The Department of Parks and Recreation’s mission is "to provide the best in parks and recreation programs, activities, services, and facilities as efficiently as possible, resulting in improved quality of life for St. Clair Shores residents." The Recreation division is responsible for coordinating, developing, and implementing athletic programs, instructional classes, and cultural and social programs for youths and adults.
