About Family Museum [-]
The Family Museum is a department of the City of Bettendorf, Iowa. Built in 1997, the Museum is located on Bettendorf's Learning Campus next to Faye's Field and the Bettendorf Public Library & Information Center. The Family Museum prides itself on offering unique and educational experiences for children and families. Exhibits and programs are designed for a primary audience of children eight and younger with an adult caregiver. The Family Museum includes 44,000 square feet of programming space with a 10,400 square foot interactive exhibit hall, three multi-purpose rooms for dance instruction and performances, two preschool classrooms, two art studios, one science studio, a party room, Corner Store, and a private outdoor playground. The Museum has hosted exciting traveling exhibits such as Hubble Space Telescope: New View of the Universe, Grossology: the Impolite Science of the Human Body, The Vision of Jim Henson, Blue Man Group: Making Waves, Bob the Builder Project:Build It, and Adventures with Clifford The Big Red Dog. In addition to exhibits, the Museum has welcomed special presentations by famed productions like Cirque du Soleil, The Tap Dogs, and presentations from Grammy nominees Justin Roberts and Trout Fishing in America. The Museum offers daily Drop-In activities, special Saturday events, Play Pals to supplement the gallery's learning experience, and a wide range of interactive hands-on exhibits.Please explore this website for more information about Drop-Ins, events, and exhibits

School Nights at the Family Museum : Invite everyone from your school to come to the Family Museum for an evening of hands-on learning fun - at the discounted group rate of $4! You can also reserve an eating space in the Great Hall for your group! This is a great idea for a PTA/PTO sponsored family event. To register, email Julie or call (563) 344-4170. Please have a date in mind plus an estimate of how many people will attend. Our standard 1:6 chaperone to child ratio will apply.
Family Nights at Your School : Available Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday evenings, September through May. Our educator brings all the supplies for a two-hour fun and fabulous festival (perfect for a special evening for your families) and you just provide the volunteers to facilitate the activities. Fee is $215 (additional $0.55 per mile round trip mileage outside the Quad Cities Metro area).
Choose from any of these activities : Build It Festival : Discover hidden geometry in patterns, shapes, and designs. Create amazing structures. Have tons of fun discovering solutions to the building challenges.
Flight Factory Festival : Take flight with kites, gliders, helicopters, and rockets, while learning the principles of flight.
Math Mind Games Festival : Exercise your brain playing fun math-based games. Examine strategies, discover numerical and visual patterns, use mental math and explore geometric properties all while having a great time.
Science Sampler Festival : Try ten different engaging science activities to experience forces and inertia, simple machines, optical illusions, cabbage chemistry and more!
